Thanks fo rany help, finally going to take the plunge and find a deal.

When my wife and I took the plunge into real estate investing, we agreed on a couple of principles:  (1) we would buy only a property that was nice enough that we wouldn't mind moving our children into it ourselves and (2) we would be able to pay the mortgage ourselves every month without stress if either of the two units failed to rent for many months.  

I finally decided to take the plunge and move out of lurkdom and actually start posting.

I've decided to take the plunge by leaving my old career and move into real estate investing, though I can't quite call myself an investor as I have yet to buy a property.

After reading books for about two years regarding business and real estate, I plunged into rental real estate and haven't looked back. 

Look at how well the leading index predicts jobs growth and losses historically - how it always bottoms out before job losses, and what tends to happens to jobs after steep plunges in the leading index at the end of an expansionary phase.
