Over prior decades cities and counties usually cut and paste stipulations into their regs and then as state law change they fail to update their codes.

If you are really worried about it and want to put something on paper I think a "code of conduct" clause or something similar for both units would be fine where you stipulate quite hours, stomping, etc, but at the end of the day people are used to living with shared walls and buildings, and sound is something that comes with those living situations. 

What you may say may well be seen, if not properly written, to contradict law, it may provide other agreements, stipulated or implied as to something making the usual and customary treatment ineffective.
