I mean, yeah, duplexes are fine and all but there's only so many duplexes in the world and most of the ones in central Florida are woefully overpriced because they happen to be near one of the innumerable theme parks which don't actually make the place a more attractive rental.

But if you are in the city next to a theme park let's say, then you are probably going to do better with 1 master with bath, a bedroom that can accommodate a queen/king and then a few bedrooms for kids.

For what it's worth, a big theme in John Reed's articles (I know I'm really harping on John Reed here, but he seems like a guy who thoroughly understands real estate) is NEVER hire a 10% of gross rent property manager.
