In my region, I am seeing other electricians billing out at $125 per person, 2 person minimum and a 2 hour minimum.If you are not comfortable witha 50% deposit for a trade, I suggest you drop everything and start an apprenticeship.

My wife and investment partner is planning to get her real estate license, maybe if I get the inspector license, it could be a powerful combo - any insights are appreciated.On the downside, it appears Texas requires a pretty rigid apprenticeship program, need to be sponsored by a professional inspector and perform a lot of inspections under direct supervision.

But do stay away from mentors who offer apprenticeships as if they will teach you in trade for work but then ask you for money to fund their deals.

The only reason to do that is if you plan on doing it full-time and then it would be wise to get your contractor's license and do an apprenticeship.

The issue here is, aside from the (approximately 1 year) education, there is a 2 year apprenticeship requirement.
