Should I pursue a real estate appraisal license?

I am a new investor in the western New York area(Niagara Falls) and I am looking to try and find a new job related to real estate that I could pursue so I don't have to work construction on the road anymore and be away from my family so much. I was wondering if anyone had any insight on this profession particularly in New York state and whether or not they would recommend this for someone like me who has no experience in this category other than my first purchase I just made. I also was just wondering how long it would take me to get my license as well as any fees and costs. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you
