I'm a car guy and personally don't see a problem with splurging on a car if it fits into your plan, you have the means and your priorities are in order. 

Splurge on flooring, unless it is carpet with pets allowed.  

Splurge on a $500 model with a stronger exhaust and vent it all the way to the outside of the house, to avoid future repairs caused by excess moisture and mold.Worth it?

Quite a bit different than trying to decide between getting the tile for 79 cents a foot or splurging on the 99 cent stuff!

People didn't splurge, $ went to rent, food and what was left went to what was left.   

I've heard the RE market in Denver is 'CRAZY' but not sure i quite get it except for US military activity in/around the Illuminati-ish underground airport generating lots of income to the area which made me wonder where is the US government getting all that $ to splurge on in the first place in this economy and hyperinflation; Iraq?

Everyone has splurge items they value.

Person A may have taken family vacations each year and travelled, paid for their kids college, splurged on a pool at their house, had a fun sports car, etc. while person B stayed home eating ramen noodles.

On the weekends I splurge with 8 hours plus a 20 minute nap when I can.

Also nothing wrong with having nice things, I will occasionally splurge.
