All Of My Tenants Have Nicer Cars Than Me

I was picking up the rent from one of my tenants tonight, and it occurred to me when they pulled up....every single one of my tenants has a considerably nicer car than me. Also almost all of my tenants (Except the ones in my condos) pay considerably more in rent than I pay for my mortgage.  Sometimes I do wonder how my tenants, who make a lot less than me can afford these nice cars and high rents. I dont think I could afford to pay as much rent as they do or buy the cars they buy.

@Russell Brazil  I had to chuckle when I read your post, because it made me think of this story.

I had an open house and when I pulled up, there was already a line that formed at the door 30 minutes prior to the showing.  When I walked up a couple said, "We're here to see the apt. too and the end of line is back there."

I looked at them and said, "Oh, okay. Well, I'm the owner of the building."

They then said, "Oh, we thought you would be driving a nicer car."

HA!  Yes, my "rental property visit, driving for dollars car" is a 20 year old Jeep.
