Ceramic tile is also good though the grout is a weak spot for odors/accidents.2.

After my first tenant turnover I added ceramic tile in the living room and hallway, painted the whole house, and replaced all of the windows in the house.

Get a 4 mm thick click lock vinyl wood look with no less than a 12 mil wear layer and make sure it has either an aluminum oxide or ceramic bead finish for scratch resistance.

BTW, IMHO, replacing vinyl sheet floor covering with ceramic is an upgrade; replacing a rotted bathroom floor, or painting when it's needed are NOT upgrades--they are basic maintenance issues.Good luck with the cat lady.

Looks high end and costs less then ceramic and hardwood and is more durable then laminate.Item pictured is a floating floor application that locks together, requires no underlayment and goes over floors that are fairly uneven.
