Should the letter be hand written, on a postcard, etc?

The  dreaded tax assessment postcard came in the mail this year, and my property taxes have gone up 150%. 

We had been searching for a property to flip and came across this opportunity by sending post cards to listed owners of distressed properties.

I hope this is really a deal but you need to realize that many of us talk to dozens or even hundreds of people before we get a deal.I recently sent out over 500 postcards and I didn't even get an appointment out of that mail-drop...

@Austen Carroll are you talking about unsolicited “I want to buy your house” letters and postcards or actual private parties contacting you?

Then set up a strategy that can be as simple as a monthly call, a monthly email, and a monthly postcard.

For instance if I mail a person a postcard and it comes back not deliverable thats a deal I go and hunt down because most people just keep on sending out postcards and ditch the addresses that have some bad data or whatnot in them causing the mail to bounce. 

A mix of postcards and letters can also be really effective.

In general, you're looking at sending roughly 20k postcards to get this amount of leads in.
