If people are brushing up against it, you are unlikely to ever get the contact cement adhered end cap to stay in place especially if it happens to get warm (sits in direct sun for example)

As to warranties, what happens when the builder decides to brush off the issues raised on the punchlist?  

The problem is those aren't static, you don't take on good debt and then have any guarantee that it stays good debt. 

Two guys with chainsaws and a truck came and cut all the firewood out of the fallen tree and then I just had to make several trips with my truck to haul the brush to a composting facility.
