200kBtu/hr for the heating system, for instance - a decent say 2500 sq ft house in this climate (Des Moines IA) might take an 80 kBTU/hr or maybe an 100 kBTU/hr furnace.I don't know much of anything about Title 24 but my guess is that those sizes are 'design' sizes. 

But we also have a shrinking labor pool, heavily engineered structures that need to withstand snow loads and earthquakes at the same time, an extreme climate on top of high costs for land, and BMPs and fire codes to protect the beauty of the area.  

We are seeing a flood of capital in PR because of favorable taxes and climate.

It's logical behavior that rental expenses might be at the top of the list to go in this kind of economic climate.

How and where does one store feuls in hot dry climates, with neighbors only feet away?

If they could handle their finances properly, wouldn't they own a house in this economic climate?
