I have a rental in a vacation market and have toyed with offering tickets to local tourist attractions, amusement parks, etc, to make a few bucks.

Also, just a bit of concern with air b&b places that are attractive to tourists, in an economic downturn people cut travel.

Those who have been in the country for a few years already and are aiming to purchase their second home etc will be in very different areas and attending totally different events than those who come as tourists which could transfer to potential buyers in the future. 

Since there are no tourists during Covid, he was out catching fish for his family's dinner. 

My biggest concern for my tourists when I had my B&B was finding restaurants.

Their prices are so high there compared to my market in Boise, Idaho so I defer to him about cash flows in Seattle.Ask him about short term rentals in some of the tourist areas.

Not much goes on until Memorial Day when the tourists come back and the trails dry out for hiking, biking, etc.You can usually get a premium if you rent just for the ski season but just a couple hundred or so and then you run the risk of having it empty for a couple months in the spring.

My advice is to focus on areas where locals want to live and rent and to stay clear of the tourist and short term rental markets. 

Old Town Scottsdale is basically a tourist area/ major entertainment hub.
