Just my 2 cents...it never hurts to diversify a little. if you don't need access to the cash right away i would at least contribute the portion that gets matched.only time i wouldn't is if i needed the cash right away to do an investment im actually interested in (real estate). if you can't contribute to your 401k and fund your real estate investments then your should pick the one that's more important to you; the one you believe in more. if you knew exactly what the returns for all your future investments were then we wouldn't be here talking about this. realty is, no one can predict future so if someone is giving me $1.50 for $1.00 to invest in something that is not completely unreasonable, 10 times out of 10 i will throw a little money in it to see what happens.

Well, given that the price of roofing materials has increased dramatically since 2009 (in certain parts of the country), and given that workers comp has increased considerably for certain trades, it's not unreasonable that my roofers have increased their price.
