There may be opportunity for small investors in some areas of midtown - these are older homes, with quite a mixture.

The corn field certainly isn't "gated" nor is the actual street where it supposedly is located.

Better to invest in somewhere, either Real Estate or stocks/bonds/mutual funds or a mixture of both.

Agriculture is the number one industry in PA, lots of apple, peach, corn, and livestock.

You could also lay a dripline on a timer, mulch it, and drop in correopsis, coneflower, sage, bluegrass, dogwood, thyme, purple oregeno (will take over), cat mint (will get HUGE) and allysum (some mixture thereof) and call it a day.  

You can buy packets of sandy mixture to add to your paint to get good grip in it. 

Add a petting zoo and tractor rides with a corn maze at Halloween, a Christmas light show, barbeque/beer/concerts a few weekends during the summer, car cruise, motorcycle rally, and some functions that honor veterans.

Family and investments can be a sticky mixture (and messy).
