We like the solitude but I don't know how people make a living there. 

The worst thing you can do is work in solitude and try to figure out everything yourself. 

About 50/50 split with renters who want complete solitude and just want to stay near home and maybe hike and another group that want a remote place to stay but want close enough to Asheville.  

Everyone says that mountain home should be a secondary property, but living away from the city has always been a dream of mine and being an introvert, I recharge in solitude. 8.

Covid had no effect whatsoever as people stayed out of the major hotels and shared elevators and Sought safety in solitude.

I think the key is in defining what you are looking for - whether that is solitude, nightlife, oceanfront, soundfront, condo vs house, shopping, proximity to larger urban areas, etc.As for insurance, there are some good resources if you Google NC coastal insurance.This is all high level and just my opinion, but I'm happy to add perspective on any areas if you like.

When working in solitude, it is much harder to hold yourself accountable.What are some things to reflect on before joining one?

People want solitude, privacy, and quiet when they leave Los Angeles for a long weekend.
