Another good neighborhood I'd recommend you take a look at is Mountain's Edge in south west of Vegas.  

After chasing what seemed like a hundred SFHs in a hot market (North Dallas suburbs -- where Toyota and everyone else appears to be moving), we found a small, older office/retail building in southwest Dallas.

I'm located in the southwest suburbs of Chicago and aspire to be a landlord in the near future!

If the numbers aren't in my favor then the deal is a bad idea.I was particularly interested in Southwest Las Vegas because of the commercial business growth.
