We did it once with a professional painter and made out fine, but painting is way less risky than plumbing, and I have heard so many horror stories about workmanship not being satisfactory.

And account for it in the buy.Selling quickly with proper marketing is just as valuable as the carpenter, electricians, plumbers, painters you hire....even more so because Realtors only get paid for closed results.

Also do you find it better to work with a general contractor who handles everything or recommend it to be better to find specific contacts for specific jobs (plumbers. painters, electricians, etc).
