Very inspiring.I am a huge fan of East Asia.

We currently live on a small US island in Asia called Guam. 

I have seen many examples of this when travelling mostly in urban areas.But are there mom and pop investors commonly doing this type of investing with houses in places like Australia, NZ, Europe or highly developed areas of Asia in the same way that we are here?

now they build in SE Asia as well as Honolulu and well you can imagine.. they are used to making 5 to 10 million per deal..

I do not know much to be honest about American real estate as for the past 12 years Ive been heavily involved in real estate and development in Europe and Asia.

Banks in Asia have a much higher concentration of business and corporate clients, partly because the middle class there is much smaller.

Anotyher point was that the US lagged in homeownership, yes, because in Europe and Asia, land has been owned for hundreds of years by the same families, single family markets in Germany are very slow.
