Renters Insurance really only covers tenant personal possessions.LTR landlords typically require it as just another level of protection to avoid tenant lawsuits when backups, floods, etc. ruin tenant possessions.If you are providing a fully-furnished home, all they are bringing are clothes and personal items.

To carry the analogy further, the Upstate NY landlords are feeling quite restricted in these new clothes we've been forced to wear.I'm afraid that these new regulations will continue to drive entrepreneurs (RE investors, specifically) out of NY, taking their tax revenue with them.

Hello BP members.First I'd like to thank everyone for all the great help.I bought a double unit in Buffalo NY and had to evict a tenant, the tenant was not at home during the eviction so i just replaced the locks and texted the tenant that he will need to schedule time with me if he wish to take his belongings - so far no reply from the tenant.By "belongings" i mean some clothing, pictures, mattress etc.

Similar to when you bring a 24 pack of clothes hangers home thinking that you will always have enough hangers from here on out, only to find yourself looking for a hanger 2-3 weeks later because more of your wife's clothes found there way onto them.

And one needs to understand that most of these folks are the complete opposite of hoarders.. they have very few possessions.. big screen TV  couch  kitchen table many times just mattress on floor and cloths on the floor in the corner.. nothing in the back yard nothing in the garage. etc.. so they can move in a matter of hours.. where as here in the northwest were rentals are not nearly as available and certainly not for under 600 fico and section 8..
