@Ryan Boltman as someone mentioned earlier, Amazon already has a presence on the western side of town in Bessemer, but now they've bought the old Century Plaza mall in the Irondale/Eastwood area and are in the process of demoing that old mall and will start a new facility there too....So Amazon seems to think highly of our little Southern piece of pecan pie.I've been investing in and around Bham since 1992, so I've seen a lot of ups and downs.

Post 1980 construction condos have worked better for us than century old triplexes.

I just got approved for my real estate license in December & looking at brokerages to sign up under in Austin, TX.I have been looking at the obvious big names (Keller Williams, Coldwell Banker, Century 21) and trying to figure which one would best for someone starting their real estate career. 

You are required to work under a designated broker such as a RE company like Century 21 or ReMax or some one else for several years.Any way hope this helps.

I recently transferred over to Century 21 Prestige Realty and I have been impressed by the communication.

We were over 10 units when we started hiring out our local handyman type tasks.The historical appreciation: Case Shiller has San Diego as the number 3 highest return market in the US for this century.

This house is also on the historic registry so it is not newer, just has been beautifully maintained and updated.I personally have a 6 bedroom, 4 bath home in Akron, it has original woodwork throughout, bathrooms and kitchen have been updated to taste with the flow of the mid-century design when the home was built, and it is rented for $2,700 a month. 

The 3rd looks like a flip in a mid-century neighborhood with decent sized lots but backs almost right up to the back of a target parking lot.
