Sometimes you can find a diamond in the rough, however most of the time you will find that the precautions of others are worth following.

Alan Segal did a presentation at Black Diamond that included this issue, I don't know the legal details, so give him a ring, and tell him I suggested you call.If it were a short sale, it would be a big no-no, but it isn't, it's an REO.Third, the biggest issue, however, that I see, is that you may not be able to get title insurance without an exclusion for the previous owner. 

Just like what a good deal is, or too much risk, etc.While there will be a diamond in the rough available, I believe we might see a slight discount from today's pricing, at least for good assets.
