It’s very interesting and something I’d love to do more of for fun and profit.U have it correct  really depends on what the use of the land is going to be.. if its just log replant and wait for the next harvest you typically cut stumps as low as possible unless there is bad sweep or other defects down low although you can buck those out before being loaded and going to the mill..

If you are interested in North Alabama in general, Athens and Harvest might be better options right now, but I don't think there is too much inventory there either (but I honestly don't know, as I don't have any property in those regions).
