Hello,

Does anyone have ideas about how to get my land (7 ac.) partially cleared of timber?  I've tried a few firewood deliverers.  Thanks!

Hi Faye,

Maybe see if there is a tree eater type machine contractor near you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIBHPT293MI

Good Luck!

thats pretty cool impliment for small trees.. or not very tall ones..  other issue is the stumps.. if your prepping the land for any kind of development you need to pop the stumps and put them in a tub grinder.. there are mills that will take chips and pay for chips..

7 acres like others said if its just scattered hardwood pretty uneconomical for any commercial type logging operation.

out here on the west coast 7 acres of Tight 150 plus foot redwoods could be worth a million bucks at the Mill..  And Export grade doug fir on 7 acres of very tall no knot tightly packed 3 log trees IE 2 40s and a top you can get 250 to 300k out that. I logged one stand in the NW Oregon area .. same area as AX man show logs in Vernonia OR.. and got over 450k net to me on that sale.. so it really depends on what you got.

Even in CA.. you can still see 3 and 4 log loads going down the road.. big TREES  were as if your in plantation pine land there could be 75 stems per load.. in Oregon we averaged 20 to 30.. you want that tight cylinder 14 to 18 inch on the but and 10 to 12 inch tops no knots.. thats money.

I have poked around at some timber ground in the east and you pretty much need to be looking at 200 acre plus type sales to have any real volume..  but love the bizz it can be quite rewarding.

So on some of my deals we did were i was going to say bust a 40 into 4  10s  were the buildiong pads were and the access roads we would try to push over the tree's so the root ball popped up instead of trying to dig those suckers up.
