My parents own two mixed use buildings in a rough part of Brooklyn and I have watched them really enjoy the fruits of the boom in property prices in the area.

I am a med sales rep w 15 years in devices which I love and enjoy.

Like I mentioned before we enjoy projects and in the area we live in are several places that need some TLC to shine.

I have also been looking at the Paper Source website and have enjoyed the intro to notes course.

That will help you get started in investing with smaller down payment requirements since it will be owner occupied  Enjoy,Paul

Both will have separate parking/entrances from street and I'll probably put a privacy fence along back side of apt so main home can enjoy backyard in privacy. 

You could end up waiting years for that while you enjoy the stellar returns of bank interest and get to write a nice profit share check to you silent partner Uncle Sam (right @Steve Vaughan?).
