In the Hyattsville area I see lots of houses with a second kitchen in the basement, often times with a separate entrance, so you could live on one level of the house and have a little privacy for yourself and then your mom and sisters can live on the other level.

Property info:-Neighbourhood is safe, family oriented, homes build in 80’s but many on the street have new siding and fantastic curb appeal (the one I am looking at has older siding but still nice curb appeal), bright and very wide street unlike most in the areas I can afford in-Three bedrooms 1 bathroom upstairs (bi-level), newer kitchen, good condition overall, 1 bedroom suite in the basement with separate entrance, storage, large bright windows and high ceilings, good condition – ready to go minus framing in and adding one door (easy fix).

Iam currently trying to evaluate a deal and its 2 homes on 1 lot is that considered a multi family home the property has 2 separate entrances to the properties I am lost to what I should offer her I am scheduled to go and meet the owner Saturday

Also looks like the beam across the entrance to the carport is somewhat sagging, I'm guessing from the lack of a center support and such a long span.

Hi Amy, The duplex has two entrances/two separate dwellings, so I do not think that you will get the 121 Exclusion on the entire property.
