And what about smokers?  

Never had scented candle smoke damage but I did have the worst smokers damage that I have seen in many years.  

We just had some prospective tenants turn in applications and they said “non-smokers” on the application, but I noticed they smelled strongly of smoke and even their applications (the paper!)

When I bought the building I made it smoke free, and he was a smoker (as was all of his company).

The same tenant tried to claim we did not have the right to not rent to smokers.

Fortunately, but for the "my mom" case, I have head all off.I must give them too much credit in assuming that if you have an animal, your selection will be limited, just like a smoker.

I have seen cars turned into BBQ grills, tables turned into desks, all kinds of things turned into light stands, and so forth.Just because a word or phrase is used for multiple things doesn't mean they are related in the sense that we are criminals because we take an old tire and turn it into a coffee table vs someone who breaks into the DMV and creates fake IDs. 

But I go overboard and put in kegorators, horseshoe pits, fire rings, grills, Rokus on an HDTV, etc.
