A concern of mine is that the property is to far from the tourist attractions?

For an example, my municipality is a mile square and only allows in the tourist zoned area and near the beach.  

It is a fishing port and they raise cattle in the surrounding mountains with rivers that run into the ocean along the miles and miles of tourist beaches.

The city of course with Beale Street, Graceland, and many other sites of interest relies on tourists as a source of revenue for the city.

This property allows me to spend time in my favorite place (beach, Dominican Republic) while cash flowing with visiting tourists to our STR.

Sounds like apples and oranges comparison.One is in the mountains around all the tourist tourist stuff like the SMNP and Dollywood the other is on a lake.Having a lake house can be very successful without much else around it.

Think about where tourists like to stay and focus on finding the right property that meets your investment criteria.
