I live in the CA high desert and there is tons of land for sale but I have no idea what is or isn't a good deal.I would assume the quit claim and no inspections would be a red flag but if it is just raw land what exactly are you inspecting for?

They are a lot of great people from SoCal (& other areas) who are regulars here.Keep in mind that although the prices are higher here than in other areas, there are still areas here where the median prices are low enough for beginner investors and the return rates are more favorable (like riverside, san bernandino, palm desert...etc)Good luck to you

just call any HVAC company they will know who to refer you too.. while caging is a nice deterrent if they really want them they just bring a Sawzall and cut the cage.. there is also companies that put lojacks on these things.. you can google those.If I was going back into land lording in areas were these thefts are common and its pretty much common in the cash flow areas of major MSA's  I would try to retrofit them up onto the roof.. like we see in the desert..
