BRRRR'ing in Joshua Tree, CA

Hi There,

New to the community and newly obsessed with the idea of making our way towards financial freedom via BRRRR. My wife and I are looking to start our real estate ventures in Joshua Tree. We live in Los Angeles and are looking to connect with experienced contractors, lenders, realtors and property managers in the Joshua Tree area.

We are looking for a small studio or two bedroom fixer upper. Must have water, power and septic. Also will need to be on a big enough parcel to build a series of glamping yurts. Our idea is to owner occupy during the rehab and airbnb set-up before handing it off to a property manager. We'd love to get started as soon as possible and can't wait to connect with people in the area!

@Stephen Shigematsu Hey Stephen! I live in the area and had an AirBnB trailer in my backyard up until recently. Look into the new ordinance that just went into effect in December. Everything needs to be to code now and the county will be doing 1-2 property inspections. There are also square footage limits on the number of guests allowed. Due diligence is a must. Not trying to scare you off, my airbnb trailer was really awesome and was more successful than I imagined, but this ordinance may put airbnbs on ice in this area depending on the type of property.
