Maybe a better measure is some state that was low on average income rising via tax increases is how I should've said it.I have no clue on taxes in Singapore, but I know (from working there 40 years ago) import taxes were god-awful and I thought they had sort of a compelled individual saving plan for retirement (you have defined contributions and we have defined benefits for Social Security).

A million dollars is won't even come close to buying you a TINY apartment in cities like Seoul, Tokyo, HK and I presume some cities in Singapore.
