North Linden is coming around, the east side of Franklinton (preferably E of SR315), and anything within maybe a 1.5 mile radius of Childrens Hospital are all areas that seem to be on the upswing and friendly to investors.

Even the new apartment buildings being built near the new hospital are advertising rents in the $1100-1600 range.  

I can say first hand that properties around the university and the hospital are only blocks apart, but might as well be worlds apart.

Every partnership varies, just look for a win-win.That said, the areas around the Hopkins Medical Campus and Hospital are very hit-or-miss.

actually im looking to wholesale it. the property doesn't need any work beside whatever changes the new owner would make. the 2 bedroom pulls in 1100 a month. the owner lived in the 3 bedroom but is currently moving out. i estimate you can get 1400-1500 on the 3 bedroom and another 800-900 on the one bedroom. i was also thinking you can rent each room separately to college students for $700 a room. marist college and the culinary are less than a mile away from the house, with vassar college and dutchess community college with in the city as well. there is a lot of room for profit in this home either way you go with it. safe neighborhood and great neighbors close to entertainment and the local post office as well as the hudson walkway and river. both hospital are a few minutes away along with the malls and good selection of gyms and restaurants and churches.

The immediate areas around Youngstown State and the hospital are better but they both have large security forces.That said, Boardman is known to be a decent place to live and invest in the Youngstown area and if the right deal came up I think I'd be interested.

Bella Vista and Graduate hospital are great neighborhoods too in the south part of the city

I have been told that both near base and near the hospital are good areas for STR.I highly recommend Bobby with Trailwood Realty in the area.Is there any certain size home that you are looking for?

When you say the area around the hospital are in decline, what exactly are you referring to?
