After buying - by chance - a 'high cash-flow' apartment as first property in Malta, my husband and I realised that Real Estate Investing could help us reach our goals: financial, geographical & time freedom.We are already working online, allowing us to travel frequently for long periods of time.

Ask if there have been any big (500+) job announcements recently.And for me personally, invest in an area you actually enjoy traveling to (for me that's a place without cold harsh winters).

I am not very well traveled so I probably can't tell you much more about foreign location.  

I don't think I'll make this months as I'll be on travel for my day job but I'll look for others to attend.

I travel a lot for work and haven't gotten the opportunity yet to go to the local REI meetups. 

I moved to N Miami beach in '06 and travel to PR once a year. 

I did feel angry with myself for not doing more due diligence prior to travelling but learned a good lesson.
