If it is a house hack that they will be living in long term then having a $1500 coming in every month to supplement their mortgage payment sounds like a good deal to me.

Some want to quit there job while others are looking to supplement there income or replace it in retirement.  

With the supplemental income from the feds, this is a HUGE amount of money for everyone currently ($4k a month) and is helping to keep things afloat.

Owner says the gas well provides free gas for 10 months a year and is supplemented by city gas for the coldest months.

@Andrea Weule I think you meant to say you disagree with @Bob Okenwa and would rather hold the property unless an opportunity to supplement the cashflow through a second property in which case you would refi to supplement the lack of capital for a down payment.

Then you take the personal knowledge and supplement it here, with questions, and with books that focus on the things you might like to focus on.

Parent resides on one side and the other is rented to help supplement cost.
