Old gas well on urban property?

HI BP,

Looking at an 1890s house with a gas well on it located in northwestern PA. Owner says the gas well provides free gas for 10 months a year and is supplemented by city gas for the coldest months. I researched this but couldn't find anything online or BP about a gas well of this nature. Everything I'm seeing is for commercial grade mass production gas wells out in more rural or suburban property as opposed to more urban property like this is. Does anyone have experience with gas wells of this nature? I'd really like to know more about this prior to proceeding. Thanks.
