Beginner investor looking to have a career in real estate

My father has been investing and renting out vacation rentals in Hawaii and talking to him about investing in real estate has got me interested and I just wanted tips on where to start learning about all the different types of investments and how to go about my journey. I’ve already read a few blog posts on here but I don’t exactly know how to get started.

Why aren't you starting with your father and trying to learn his process and why he buys where he does and what he chooses to buy. Then you take the personal knowledge and supplement it here, with questions, and with books that focus on the things you might like to focus on. Don't discount your dad just because he is your dad. I learned everything I know about REI from my dad and I am 30 years in, still learning his lessons every day.
