I'm looking for a bit of direction when it comes to the topic of in person seminars/ workshops.

I have several investors call me and experienced agents can tell investors that knows their stuff and those that just came out of a weekend investment workshop and are spitting out key words.Successful agents are busy so calling you back might not be top priority because lots of business is done over the phone.

I went to many seminars on how to be a better realtor how to sell ... many high priced conferences were we had work shops etc etc.

I have also been watching some of the workshop videos to try and get an even better understanding of some strategies (I've focused more in rental strategies).

I have renters insurance on my property which consists of the main home, a one bedroom apartment and an illegal studio/workshop conversion. 3 weeks ago there was a small fire in the garage attached to my illegal studio, will my insurance cover this?

A trick that often works out here in California is to remove the kitchen/bathroom and convert it into a storage area or workshop.

@Brett Snodgrass I've been to a few 'free' workshops and can definitely tell the difference between someone trying to charge tuition to teach a lesson vs someone who wants an exorbitant amount of money to teach you the 'fast secrets to real estate riches'.

I attended a workshop where one of the speakers (Eungelo Rumora from Ohio Cashflow) said, "you can't eat equity".
