The maximum price for education
Good morning fellow BiggerPockets members! I have an interesting thought question for you all today. As many of you can tell, the community is generally not in favor of paying people to teach you how to work in real estate. I know that it's 100% possible to do everything on your own and figuring everything out by yourself, or finding a mentor who is willing to show you the way for free, however, I believe there may be some merit to paying for an introductory lesson or two and paying a small fee to join a local Real Estate Investing Group (REIG). By paying a fee to learn, you accelerate your learning curve and reduce the time needed to achieve your goals. Most importantly, by having someone by your side, showing you how to do things "the right way", you greatly improve your chances of breaking out of mediocrity (i.e. giving up after owning a few lousy properties). They can also help you connect the missing dots that answer questions that books don't address.
My question is this, what is the most one should pay to get started in real estate investing?
Thank you, I look forward to reading all of your responses!

First, not all members here are too cheap to pay for education. Those that are I can't understand why. Many have jobs and careers that demanded education they paid heavily for...why should a career in REI suggest you shouldn't do the same.
The answer to the question of, "What is the maximum price for education" is simple...there is none. The day you stop learning, is the day the world passes you by.
You get what you pay for, but you should also expect to pay for what you get. We are supposed to be investors. Maybe we should not appy the same philosphy of "by low sell high" we use to invest in RE, to the needed education of how to be better REI.
