I don't know all the specifics of the VA program but there are many mortgage lenders on BP who can provide the specifics of how best to deploy that benefit.Real estate investing is a capital intensive business and while the VA program will allow you to put less money down upfront, that will mean you recurring monthly payments will be higher.

I use FNBO Direct, an online & mobile bank, they have 2.25% right now which is decent, not the best but you want to keep your money safe especially if you're deploying it soon.
