The laws vary from state to state, but the gist of it is if you are trying to be a wholesaler without a RE license, then understand that you may be operating in a gray area legally.

If you're not changing the wall colors, shades of gray go with those colors.

You're kind of facing the same "gray area" most wholesalers run into.

And while you can get it in any color I'd stick with something neutral like gray.

And I suspect there are many shades of gray - some the SEC doesn't care about and some they do.  

As far as licenses for Wholesaling specifically, a lot of states acknowledge a gray area between Wholesaling and being a Real Estate Broker, as it appears (on paper) that you are receiving a commission for putting buyer and seller together.
