An STR in a spiritual place liek Joshua Tree is likely to fare better than an event destination like Indio.

A summary of my local region is: major summer tourist destination, slow winters.

San Antonio is a popular vacation destination.

So far, some destinations we are looking at are: Cincinnati, OH...Columbus, OH...Tampa, FL...Memphis, TN, & Nashville, TN.

As some may have mentioned, the desert has been mostly a destination for STR’s.

I think that more people will try to move out of the gateway/overpriced cities like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington DC, Boston, Philadelphia and head for more affordable states like Texas, Idaho, Florida, The Carolinas, and other sunbelt destinations.

I like how you have an end goal (Destination), I think you need to be more specific in the details..

I did it for 4 years in New Mexico, and am about to start house hacking another duplex in Destin, FL next month.
