If the rehabber/contractor wants to pay me out, let them give me a price to walk away vs "demanding a fee" for lack of better terminology at the moment?

Let me explain....Once I learned what others in the group were being fairly compensated (also from Hunter), I quickly realized that I had left 7 figures on the table last year due to my lack of knowledge in this area.

You are procrastinating on the smallest of things which means you may lack the confidence to do what you are planning to do.

It is not really apples to apples, but generally speaking the more money invested the further ahead you will be eventually in the future, just because your compounding base is higher, regardless of where the money comes from - ie, 4 300k properties are 1.2 million on property, which is double the 600k property.

And oftentimes, the projects lack enough margins to afford the "best" contractors.Consider the common claim on BP: you cannot find contractors that are good, affordable, and timely.

I find myself lacking direction and my steps.

But the diversification may be through a number locations of the same type property, as expertise in one area trumps diversifying into areas where you lack a competitive advantage.  

I'd like to understand @Devin James, from the domestic developer mind of things; If there stands a confusion, lack of comprehension on how to address housing compilation in a given region, city, MSA etc., why not look to Europe?
