I didn't touch on their credit but the ability to pay and lying on the application and the boyfriend didn't fill out and submit his application after 10 days since his girlfriend submitted her own even when I asked/reminded them that I needed it.

You may need to politely remind them that having a judgement from a landlord could make it difficult for them to rent in the future.If their goal here is to save money, having you take them to court is the last thing they probably want or need.
