For a variety of reasons, the industry (which is 40+ years old, BTW), has determined this is not a feasible pairing.Some tech focused entrepreneurs have tried to enter the plan services space, such as the firm you note. 

In my opinion, you are being frugal and not thinking as an entrepreneur -it's a liability to keep the same set of books for two businesses.
