We tend toward a rosy perspective on concepts which enhance our own career pursuits, disposed to glossing over endemic threats to our success.

If the PM role is located in the same area you invest, you will be able to learn more about the area, and make connections that will help you with your own pursuits. 

The business pursuits exclusion.

I would even argue that this is not a good goal to have in general given the tradeoffs most have to make in the pursuit of what our culture values; the dual achievement and consumption lifestyle while trading off other things that arguably are much more important in pursuit of happiness, health, wealth, and the self-actualization goals of autonomy, mastery, and purpose.  

I recently did that and abandoned my Realtor license pursuit - I don't see where the course has helped with our investing KB. 

To be more successful, you simply have to work on the other elements to progress your REI pursuit.

Nothing will help you on your pursuit to wholesale faster than networking and learning from others.

So, I use Personal Capital to track my net worth (at least those parts of my net worth that can be harnessed in the pursuit of financial freedom - doesn't count retirement accounts, my car, or home equity if I owned a home that wasn't an investment property). 

My time is better invested in building more business / income / my network / etc. than it would be in physical labor.Stated another way, rather than avoid expenditures I see the pursuit of income as a better use of my time and energy.My $0.02...
