I found this chart recently while tooling around online:

I found it a bit disconcerting because it basically represents that about 3 in 1000 people derive more income from capital than from labor in our country.  That seems pretty small, but does seem to align with my experience over the last 15 years.  

Do you all feel like this chart is accurate?  Would the chart change materially if the abscissa was measured with different units?  It is unclear whether these units are income dispersion or wealth dispersion.  

Any thoughts?  Since most people on this site are hoping to achieve financial independence this seems like a good topic to discuss.
