If I can't discriminate based on X, odds are a landlord can't either, and vice versa.So if I'm funding mortgage loans for women on maternity leave, landlords probably better damn well not be denying tenant applicants who are trying to upgrade their housing before the bun pops out of the oven.In the other direction, if landlords are renting to LGBTQ love triangles because it would be illegal to say "no" based on LGBTQ love triangle status in California, I probably better damn well not be treating those mortgage applicants any differently either.It's not housing discrimination to deny someone because they are unwilling or unable to adequately document their income.
