I am building a 320 sqft. studio (efficiency or room) with bathroom, closet and a private entrance behind my house in Hallandale Beach, FL. (18 minutes away from miamj) Unfortunately the GC I had did a bad job of managing the money and left my job at 40% :( Than file for bankruptcy and now I’m stuck 😩🙈This is my first deal and I need help, I need a reliable and honest GC to finish this job.

It was converted to an apartment (separate entrance, Washer, dryer, oven, stove, fridge.)

I am looking to purchase a home in Utah and am wondering how much it would cost to create a separate entrance into a furnishes basement.

Are you adding an entrance for the basement units?

A property with a detached garage, unfinished attic or basement or multiple entrances all shout house hacking potential.

What really sold me on the house is a completely separate great room and half bath on one side of the ranch style home with a separate entrance.

If you don't, why not house hack by finding a home with a separate basement entrance potential and on a lot zoned for two units (look for the 'TU' in the middle of the zoning designation).

Is the barrier to entrance just too high?

I guess multi family are houses / buildings with multiple entrances.. so a house with basement would be considered multi family as well?

I'm currently renovating the basement (adding another 500 sqft) as a full 1b/1ba in-law suite, with separate entrance and parking.
