Is there any bank or other corporation that we need to go through to obtain a loan?

@Peter M. please let me assure you it is not a difficult task for a competent lawyer to pierce the veil of an LLC. 2nd year Corporations covers it in law school.

You can look towards investing within private mortgage corporations but their underlying assets will, in all likelihood, be in Canada. 

From my understanding, LLC's and Corporations have different tax requirements.I'd prefer to avoid both downtrodden and luxury real estate.
