So this is a tricky thing.Accountant's / CPA / Professionals who get paid based on their knowledge and time normally do provide a 'free consulting' call to have a chat with them.However, please be mindful that the 'free consulting' most firms offer is very high level and moreso to see if you both would be a good fit for eachother.Sometimes, these calls are done by the owner(if its a smaller firm) or business development  professionals if the firm is larger.1800-Accountants is a large firm so you are likely first vetted by a non accountant whose main job is to get the sale.Best of luck.

I have been a member of the community since 2009 and have loved sharing whatever knowledge I may have when and where it makes sense. 

If we can agree that 'knowledge' is an asset (an intangible asset) then there may be some common ground in the view that those with unique knowledge that is in low supply but high demand get paid more for their knowledge than those with common knowledge that can be obtained anywhere or from anyone for free.

No specific questions yet, just looking to continue to meet others, hear some experiences, and generally soak up the knowledge here. 

But my real estate investment knowledge is very limited to the basics that one always starts buying it as their primary residence. 

After talking to two realtors with intimate knowledge of the area, we learned that STR rents and annual occupancy are just too low to even cover the PITI of properties in the area, let alone maintenance, supplies, lawn care, snow removal, etc.
