With this being said, i want to expand my circle and meet people everyday but i feel that doing that, specially as an adult, is looked down upon and it feels "weird" walking up to people in random places so what i want to do is join organizations or clubs but MeetUp seems a bit limited in my area...

Most reasons have already been stated above such as: job loss, medical health issues leading to job loss, divorced spouse/domestic violence issues, allowing their adult children, boyfriends/girlfriends/former spouse  move in that are not on the lease and whose financial and rental history would fail to meet rental criteria set by you.
